Mitglieder der "Greyhound Compassion" haben am Samstag den 09. April den angekündigten Protest und die Übergabe der Petition gegen den Export von Greyhounds nach China vor der Irischen Botschaft in London unterstützt.

"Greyhounds in Need", "Greyhounds UK", der "Wimbeldon Greyhound Welfare" waren ebenso vertreten wie Besitzer von Greyhounds aus dem Tierschutz.

Nach der Meinung der anwesenden Iren ist der Antrag sehr ernst zu nehmen und sie befürchten, dass Ihre Regierung der Exporterlaubnis zustimmen wird.

"Some Greyhound Compassion members went to London on Saturday to support the protest opposing the export of Irish greyhounds to China. Other representatives came from Greyhounds In Need, Greyhounds UK, Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare and there were rescue greyhound owners from as far afield as Wales, Devon, Warwickshire and Sunderland.

Having spoken to some Irish people at the demo, they fear that the prospect is a very real one and are disenchanted that the Irish government is considering allowing this to happen."
