Police shocked by skinned dog
DARWIN police say they are shocked over the discovery of the body of a dog that had been skinned.
Darwin police station officer in charge Danny Bacon said police were calling for any information, following the horrific find yesterday. A man made the discovery 5m from a main road at Berrimah in Darwin's east. The dog's head was wrapped in a garbage bag, but no attempt had been made to conceal the rest of the animal, which had had the skin removed. Police believe the dead dog was a greyhound.
"While we haven't determined exactly what's happened at this point in time, we're certainly looking for public assistance," Senior Sergeant Bacon said.
