Am Ostersonntag, dem 23. März, wird der Irish Greyhound Board (IGB) wieder einmal seine alljährliche Preisverleihung im Killashee House Hotel in Naas, 24 Meilen von Dublin entfernt, veranstalten.
Dies ist ein alljährliches Besäufnis mit Tanz und Bankett, auf dem der IGB Trophäen an seine Weggefährten innerhalb der kommerziellen Greyhound-Rennen-Branche verleiht.
Wir werden nicht einfach mit ansehen, wie sie Preise verleihen, zu Abend essen und sich gegenseitig auf die Schultern klopfen, sondern wir werden lautstark unseren Protest über ihren verabscheuungswürdigen so genannten „Sport“ zum Ausdruck bringen, der ihnen allen durch rücksichtsloses Ausbeuten unschuldiger Geschöpfe ein nettes Leben beschert.
Greyhound Action schätzt, dass die irische Hunderennen-Branche für den Tod von 10.000 Greyhounds pro Jahr verantwortlich ist. Zusätzlich werden tausende Greyhounds, die in Irland für Rennen auf britischen Bahnen gezüchtet werden, getötet – oft schon als junge Welpen – nachdem man sie für unbrauchbar erklärt hat. Daher kann die Zahl der Greyhounds, die Jahr für Jahr in Irland getötet werden, sehr wohl mit 20.000 Tieren beziffert werden. Wenn Sie Zeit haben, nehmen Sie bitte an dieser wichtigen Demonstration teil! Sie beginnt um 17.30 Uhr vor dem Hotel am Haupteingang. Banner und Plakate gegen die Greyhound-Rennen sind mehr als willkommen, genauso wie Pfeiffen, Blasinstrumente, Megaphone und alles andere, was Lärm macht!

Important demonstration

Easter Sunday, March 23rd, 5.30pm
On Easter Sunday, March 23rd, the Irish Greyhound Board (IGB) will, once
again, be holding their annual awards ceremony at the Killashee House Hotel in Naas, 24 miles from Dublin.
This is a yearly booze-up, dance and banquet, where the IGB hand out trophies to their various pals within the greyhound racing industry.
We are not going to let them get away with their wining, dining and
mutual back-slapping without vociferously bringing home to them exactly what we think about their
disgusting so-called "sport" that makes them all a nice living from the ruthless persecution of
innocent creatures.
Greyhound Action estimates that the Irish dog racing industry is
responsible for the deaths of over10,000 greyhounds every year. In addition, thousands of greyhounds, bred
in Ireland for racing on British tracks, are put to death, often as young pups, after being considered not good enough to send to Britain. Therefore, the total number of greyhounds killed in
Ireland every year could well be in excess of 20,000(for more information, see

If you possibly can, please try to attend this important demonstration, which will begin at 5.30pm outside the hotel�s main entrance. Anti greyhound racing banners and
placards are more than welcome, as are whistles, airhorns, megaphones and anything else that makes a noise.
