| Die Kampagne „Rettet unser Stadion“ scheint an Schwung zu verlieren Nachdem es Gerüchte gab über ein Treffen zwischen den SOS-Aktivisten (Befürworter der Hunderennen!) und dem L&Q Housing Trust, der das Land im Mai dieses Jahres kaufte, kann Greyt Exploitations nun bestätigen, dass keine weiteren Sitzungen mehr geplant sind, bevor das Stadion am 16. August geschlossen wird. Es ist beschlossene Sache, dass Einrichtungen und Anlagen des Stadions entfernt werden, bevor L&Q die Eigentümerschaft am 1. September übernimmt. Ein Sprecher von L&Q sagte: „Uns ist durchaus bewusst, welche Bedeutung die Walthamstow - Hunderennbahn für das Leben der Menschen und deren Lebensunterhalt im Laufe der Jahre gewonnen hat und wir verstehen, warum die SOS-Aktivisten darauf drängen, dass sie nicht geschlossen wird. Aus diesem Grund haben wir ein Treffen mit dem SOS-Wettkonsortium vereinbart, damit sie die Gelegenheit erhalten, detaillierte Vorschläge für die weitere geschäftliche Nutzung vorzustellen. Walthamstow Stadium Update The campaign to ‘Save Our Stow’ appears to be losing momentum. Following rumours of an immanent meeting between the S.O.S. campaigners and L&Q Housing Trust who bought the land in May, Greyt Exploitations can now confirm no further meetings are planned before the stadium’s closure date of August 16th. Plans are in place to dismantle and remove fittings and equipment prior to L&Q taking ownership on September 1st. An L&Q spokesperson said: "We recognise the importance that Walthamstow dog track has played in people’s lives and livelihoods over the years and appreciate the reasons for the SOS campaign to keep it open. Because of this we have agreed to meet with the SOS bidding consortium so that they have an opportunity to present a more detailed business proposal. This meeting would take place in approximately 2 weeks."
